ART Navigator UK was created by Saranga Sumathipala. Every clinical statement below is checked against the source text it cites, automatically, on every build.
How a recommendation is made
- Regimens available in the scenario (first-line, switch, failure) start from their BHIVA tier.
- Independent rule modules assess each regimen: HLA-B*57:01, hepatitis B, renal and hepatic function (per-product SmPC §4.2), pregnancy (SmPC §4.6 and BHIVA), viral load and CD4 restrictions, treatment history, genotypic resistance, drug interactions (SmPC §4.3/4.5), comorbidities and the patient's priorities.
- Each finding excludes the regimen, scores it up or down, or adds information, and cites its source.
- Regimens are ranked by score; excluded ones are listed with their reasons.

Limitations
The tool covers adults. It does not model every interaction, every resistance mutation, or salvage therapy beyond flagging the need for expert input. Recommendation tiers are an interpretation of the guidelines. Always check the current SmPC and guidelines, and discuss complex cases with your HIV MDT.
